Boating on Stinson Lake

The lake has a public boat ramp located on Stinson Lake Road at the south end of the lake near the dam.   

There are no public beaches on the lake. Parking is limited.

Ski Craft Restriction

Pursuant to state law (RSA 270:74-a), Ski craft were banned on Stinson Lake as of October 1, 1989. “Ski craft” means any motorized watercraft or private boat which is less than 13 feet in length as manufactured, is capable of exceeding a speed of 20 miles per hour, and has the capacity to carry not more than the operator and one other person while in operation. The term includes jet ski, surf ski, fun ski, and all personal water craft (PWCs) designed to seat 1 or 2 persons.

Boating Speed

NH Boating Law states it is unlawful to operate a vessel at greater than headway speed (6 mph) within 150 feet of: swimmers, the shoreline, other vessels, docks or moorings, rafts or floats.

Boating Education

New Hampshire has a mandatory boating education law. Everyone 16 years of age who operates a motorboat over 25 horsepower on New Hampshire waters must have a boating education certificate. https://www.nhsp.dos.nh.gov/our-services/field-operations-bureau/marine-patrol/boating-education.
